Tinting FAQ’s
What are the legal tint limits in Singapore?
In Singapore, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) requires:
- Front windscreen: ≥ 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT)
- Front side windows: ≥ 25% VLT
What is UVR in tint films?
UVR (Ultraviolet Rejection) shows how much harmful UV rays are blocked. Good films offer ~99% UVR, helping protect your skin and prevent interior fading.
What is IRR and does higher mean better?
IRR (Infrared Rejection) measures heat rejection from infrared rays. Higher IRR generally means better heat reduction, but real-world performance also depends on film quality (not just the %).
Will tint affect my GPS, ERP, or mobile signal?
Some metallic tint films can interfere with signals. Modern ceramic films are preferred as they provide heat rejection without signal disruption.
How long does tint last in Singapore’s climate?
Quality tint films typically last 5–10 years, but cheaper films may fade, bubble, or turn purple within 1–3 years due to heat and UV exposure.
